Special drive to EPF members in Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence & Render of an Award to the Establishment for Highest Number of Filing
With a special focus on attaining the target of 5000 E-Nominations in a week for each zone, pursuant to a distinct drive launched by the Employee’s Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence, the EPF members are hereby requested to file their E-Nomination at a steady pace for fulfilling the objective of the said drive.
Nomination and its Importance:
The main mission of the Employee’s Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is to pay out provident fund (PF) and pension (EPS) claims to subscribers in a timely manner after retirement or to their nominees upon a member’s demise. The processes of this, have been made transparent, streamlined and technology driven. Another move in this direction to hasten the resolution of provident fund and pension claims is the launch of E-Nomination option on the EPFO members’ portal.
E-Nomination Process:
With the introduction of E-Nomination, the onus of updating the nominee details lies on the employee. This is more so since employees have multiple PF accounts, or may not share complete information with the current employers, or old records are unavailable with the EPFO / employers etc.
The E-Nomination facility can be availed only by members who have an active UAN and active mobile number linked and verified with Aadhaar. The photograph of the member should be available on his online profile on the EPF portal.
Easy Steps to file E- Nomination:
- Visit www.epfindia.gov.in.
- Go to services, for employees, and click ‘Member UAN/Online Services’.
- You need to log in with UAN and Password.
- Then select E-Nomination under ‘Manage Tab’.
- ‘Provide details’ Tab will appear on screen. Click ‘Save’.
- Click ‘Yes’ to update Family Declaration.
- Click ‘Add Family Details’. (More than one nominee can be added).
- Please click on ‘Nomination Details’ to declare total amount of share. Click ‘Save EPF Nomination’.
- Click ‘E-sign’ to generate OTP. Submit ‘OTP’ sent on mobile number linked with Aadhaar.’
As it is that E-Nomination enables expeditious settlement of Member Pension Claims through online and providing EPF / EPS / EDLI benefits to eligible nominees on death of member without visiting the offices of EPFO or attestation by employer, in furtherance to the above-stated, the EPFO has issued a recent Circular wherein the EPFO Head Office has decided to render award to one establishment from each region i.e., East, West, North, South & NER, who will be completing the highest number of filing of E-Nominations by 31st March, 2023.
Therefore, the establishments are hereby requested to complete the E-Nomination for all the Employees on or before 31st March, 2023.
