TCS, Infosys, HCL Hiring For 1 Lakh IT Jobs, As Outsourcing Demand Booms

In case you were one of the many worried that COVID-19 is going to make the job market in the IT industry difficult, this news will surely make you happy.

Large IT companies in India are looking to recruit over 100,000 people locally in order to equip the teams with manpower to complete client projects who have now doubled down on outsourcing to cut costs.

As per an ET report, after a rather disappointing June quarter, where a hiring freeze didn’t offer good opportunities to freshers, IT companies have now resumed employing and honouring all campus offers made to college graduates. Also, the deal volumes in the IT companies have risen with the deal pipeline in a better state than before, even though now it has taken more time to seal the deal amidst the disruption caused by the pandemic.

Industry experts say that while COVID-19 pandemic may have halted IT hiring in general, it could push the companies to adopt contract recruitment that will get them the necessary manpower without any long-term commitments for the employee such as medical or other office expenses.
