New Delhi: Amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis, millions have lost their jobs across the world and several million are on the verge of unemployment. In order to cut costs, companies have laid off employees during the pandemic. During this period, employers hiring people to work from homes has increased by 3 times compared to the time prior to the lockdown, according to Naukri.com report.
Because of Covid-19 situation, hiring and firing trends have changed drastically across the world especially during the lockdown. The report reveals that the percentage contribution of work from home jobs has increased by 4 times this year. Apparently, people have been searching for work from home jobs since the beginning of April.
In fact, the keywords ‘work from home’ has also been at the top of the list of most searched keywords by jobseekers on Naukri.com in last 5 months. Several reports revealed that the number of work from home jobs has gone up by 7 times in applications.

As per Pawan Goyal, the chief business officer at Naukri.com, the work from home trend has grown in the last few years but the growth has accelerated multi-fold due to the global pandemic. “While the office is here to stay, greater acceptance of remote working will pave way for a hybrid-working model in the coming future,” he said.
