The Centre has accepted the proposal to hike the interest rate of deposits in the provident fund to 8.15% for this financial year, and EPFO will start depositing the same into subscribers’ accounts
From 8.10 per cent for 2021-22, which was the lowest in 40 years, the rate of deposits in the provident fund has been increased to 8.15 per cent for 2022-23. The Centre has given approval to the proposal for rate hike given by the Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
The field offices of EPFO have been instructed to credit the interest at the rate of 8.15 per cent into the accounts of its more than six crore subscribers.
