How The Indian Government Is Helping For The Employment Generation In The Country

The United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) has warned that India should generate 28 crore Jobs before 2050 to provide jobs to all the new members who are joining the workforce. 

  • Half of the population of the country is below 25 years and more than one crore turning 18 every year, in this situation India need to create 80-90 Lakh jobs annually to deploy the new entrants joining the workforce. Improving the employability and generating the employment is the main concern of the Government. Government launched various incentive schemes to generate the employment which includes the following – 
  • Employment Generation Programme run by Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises,
  • Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme,
  • Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana scheme run by Ministry of Rural
  • Development Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods.
  • Government Incentive Schemes to the goods/service exporters.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana:-

The Government introduced PMMY for facilitating self employment. Under this scheme small and micro enterprises and Individuals can get the loan up to Rs 10 Lakhs to set up and expand their businesses. Under this scheme 15.59 crore loans have been sanctioned till 25th January 2019.
