Only 9.5% Non-technical Students Among Internship Seekers: Survey

A major learning from the report is that content writing, data entry, and management profiles including business development and marketing, digital marketing, and human resources, are some of the highly popular internships among the non-tech students pursuing internships.

BENGALURU: Internship and training platform Internshala has brought out a report on the undergraduates in India pursuing non-technical degrees including B.A, B.Com, B.B.A, and B.Sc. The key highlight of the report is that with more than 3.5 million students applying for internships just on Internshala every year, only 9.5% of these are degree students.

As per MHRD’s all-India survey on higher education (AISHE) report of 2019, 62% of the Indian students come under the category of non-technical undergraduate students. This signifies that these students hold a major share among the overall number of students enrolled in higher education across India. Despite this, they form a small percentage among internship seekers. This calls attention to a major lack of awareness among this group of students about their career options.
