50,000 Youths To Be Imparted Industry Skills, Says, Minister

Over 50,000 youths of Himachal Pradesh will be imparted industry-oriented skills in the next four years, while as many as 12,000 students will be trained in employability skills. Industry and Technical Education Minister Bikram Singh said this at a workshop being organised by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) of Singapore here.

Bikram Singh said, “Human resources of any country have to be developed in order to achieve economic growth. Talent is valued high only if skill training is available to people, especially the youth. In this era of technological advancements and innovations, skills and capabilities should be honed to match the requirements of the market-driven businesses and professions”.

He said that the state government was committed towards the welfare of all sections of society. “Various developmental schemes and programmes have been started to facilitate the people of the state. The Kaushal Vikas Nigam is the primary implementing agency of the Himachal Pradesh Skills Development Project. Every person possesses a unique skill that has to be identified through a mechanism developed for the purpose”.
