Make in India to Get a Fresh Impetus

The new government under the aegis of Narendra Modi is planning to work on a fresh strategy to boost the Make in India programme.

In the last five years, the government has drastically improved the business climate of the country, pushing it towards the trajectory for high and sustainable growth. From a call-to-action to becoming a platform for national development, the campaign has made its presence felt across the globe.

Boost to start-ups

In the past five years, the campaign has made significant strides in achieving its goals. Rajan Bandelkar, president, National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), Maharashtra is of the view that, “Make in India is the righteous and progressive beginning and it is directly related to income growth of India’s economy and there are many startups which have made progress towards new India.

Even today, we are importing products from foreign countries like Germany, which manufactures technologically advanced products, but lately many Indian companies have come up with their world class products which are posing a tough competition for the imported goods. It may take some time but the beginning has already started to show its effect. If we see where our real estate industry is moving, technology will play a key role which will automatically be beneficial.”
