Firms Facing Shortage Of Skilled Workforce In Cybersecurity: Infosys Research

A market research report published by Inofsys’ research arm studying the cybersecurity threats faced by enterprises said that half (48%) of corporate boards and 63% of business leaders of surveyed enterprises are involved in cybersecurity strategy discussions.

For the research, InfosysNSE 0.91 % surveyed 867 senior executives from 847 firms in 12 industries, with annual revenues over $500 million across US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). 

Among the key findings of the report was that companies are facing a shortage of skilled workforce in the area. According to a note on the research, the top concerns faced by enterprises are Hackers/Hacktivists (84%), low awareness among employees (76%), insider threats (75%), and corporate espionage (75%).

The report said that organizations are also following “a series of ‘soft’ methods” to overcome security challenges like “training/certifications (61%), enablement sessions (54%) and creating security awareness among employees (51%)”.
