In terms of salaries too, it is expected to be a good year for people with these skills. The current salary ranges in the Rs 20 lakh per annum bracket for a talented person with 5-7 years of experience.

Setting aside all doubts regarding the new labour laws, the Central government has clarified that the working hours will be limited to 8 hours a day. The confusion related to this arose as the new wage code proposed 12 hours of daily work. The Code on Wages bill was passed in August 2019 by Rajya Sabha while Lok Sabha had passed it in July 2019.

According to a report published in The Economic Times, the government officials have informed that it is being considered that the working hours be limited to 8 hours a day.

Apart from this, it has also been said that any extra time spent beyond the working hours will be considered as overtime. If a worker spends 15 to 30 minutes beyond the 8 hour limit, it will be considered as half-hour overtime. Any further hour spent would be considered as overtime for which twice that of regular salary will be paid. The Bill will become and ACT after the Presidential assent.
