Telecom Firm Telstra Plans To Beef Up Hiring In Bengaluru

Australian telecom leader Telstra plans to move work in-house from its vendors in India, as it looks to step up hiring and consolidate over 2,000 people at its new centre in Bengaluru, chief executive Andy Penn told ET.

The centre is designed to work on emerging technologies such as internet of things, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

“We look to increase the headcount in India to couple of thousands. Definitely, we are going to retire some of the legacy systems. We are replacing them with new Cloud-based technologies. Much of that work is being done in India in conjunction with the new innovation centre and partners,” Penn said.
