Hindustan Unilever Sends Distributors To IIM Ahmedabad To Improve Business Skills

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) is now sending its distributors to business school. In a first-of its kind initiative, India’s largest pure-play consumer goods company recently sent a group of its top distributors to IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) to improve their business skills in the rapidly-changing business environment.

The course has been rolled out in keeping with HUL’s agenda of being ‘future-fit’. IIMA was approached as a co-creator to give shape to the business leadership programme.

“Given the current business context and a rapidly changing environment, we believe that continuous learning and enhancing of business skills are very important,” said Srinandan Sundaram, executive director, customer development, HUL. “We had always engaged with our distributors as business partners who help us serve our customers and consumers better. Investing in their development has always been our focus and this programme was the logical next step on that journey,” he said.
