Haryana Notifies Rules under Maternity (Amend) Benefit Act

Chandigarh August 2 Haryana Government has framed and notified rules under the Maternity (Amend) Benefits Act, 2017, for providing creche facilities and amenities in such establishments as employ 50 or more employees in the state.
With this, the creche facility would be available to the children of regular, temporary, daily wagers, contractual, consultant and other such employees.
Stating this here today, a Labour department spokesperson said a proposal to this effect had been approved by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
Now, every establishment in the state having 50 or more employees, would have to maintain the facility of the creche in the vicinity of the place of work or within a walkable distance, that is 500 meters, from the entrance gate of the establishment, for the use of children of such employees under the age of six years.
The building in which creche is situated would be soundly constructed and the walls and roofs would be of heat-resistant materials and waterproofs. The floor and internal walls of the creche would be so laid or finished as to provide a smooth impervious surface.
