PF official warns employers against missing deadline

Employers failing in remitting the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) amount of their employees with the provident fund office on or before 15th of every month will be penalised as per the laws, Assistant Commissioner of Provident Fund Addanki Amareswara Rao said here on Tuesday.

In a statement issued here, Mr Amareswara Rao said that the officials had found that the owners of some firms under the purview of the district office were not remitting the EPF amounts as per the schedule.
“Notices have been served on the defaulters. We will take action against the erring firms as per the provisions of the Provident Fund Act, Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Criminal Procedure Code (CrpC) as well,” said the Assistant Commissioner of Provident Fund.
